It’s been an interesting week watching Russell Brand engage across the US spectrum of mainstream media from a position of overall non-judgement and a humorous refusal to default polarise with another human being.
This is what civil debate can look like but it requires an inner emotional and spiritual discipline, an internal vetting of the ego, a willingness to ‘mind the gap’ as we say on the London underground.
And the world really needs it.
Something I’ve observed after releasing trapped emotions and the mental energy of past events from my body is how different I can feel about situations and how this changes my relationship with the world around me.
I still have an opinion! But the release of emotional baggage provides a backdrop of non-attachment - I don’t need others to agree with me in order to feel at peace.
I can allow others their own thoughts without feeling directly under attack in a visceral subconscious way. I can walk away if necessary and not poison my day with resentment.
And this is why I feel energy medicine, somatic trauma work and the human potential movement - including many teachers backing up their modalities with scientific data - has radical political and social implications.
Understanding our own power to create our reality through sensing the subtlest changes in our own energy, often brought on by ingesting unconscious content and thought forms from others, and how the choices we perceive available can affect this biofield is really what the next revolution in consciousness and politics will look like.
We are spiritual beings in a physical body. We can transcend our ancestral traumas given to us epigenetically and do not need to live out these emotional patterns in our own lives, affecting what we believe is possible in ourselves and others.
Change is due and it’s here.
Recently a director of a company rang me after a horrendous family argument. The morning after the blow up, ostensibly over money, he self-admitted to A & E with intense and prolonged abdominal pain.
Days of tests later and doctors still can’t find a single physical explanation.
“I know this is energetic somehow and I need an energy healer to help me get to the bottom of this.”
Twenty, even ten years ago, this kind of phone call would not have happened.
The vocabulary of connectivity, energy medicine and emotional awareness (energy-in-motion) has entered the collective outside of the new age and psychic-spiritual communities. Last year the Nobel prize in physics was awarded to three quantum mechanic researchers.
According to the Guardian, “the trio’s work has focused on a phenomenon known as quantum entanglement, which was dubbed “spooky action at a distance” by Albert Einstein. The research is expected to play an important role in quantum computing, secure information transfer, and sensing technologies.”
We are officially in the Age of Aquarius and the recent paradigms of established knowledge are rightfully, holistically and logically crumbling.
When we heal and become our authentic self it matters collectively more than we may know.
